Joe Sims will be back on our screens this week as he appears in the eagerly anticipated ITV drama ‘The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies’.
The 2 part Mini-Series is based on the real-life story of retired schoolteacher Christopher Jefferies who was initially questioned by police as a suspect in the murder of 25 year oldĀ Jo Yeates.
Christopher Jefferies was Jo’s landlord. A quirky, slightly eccentric man, the media were fixated with him throughout the murder investigation.
The press hounded Mr Jefferies until the real suspect was arrested and later convicted of Jo’s murder. Joe plays the part of Jo’s murderer and neighbour Vincent Tabak, a 32 year old Dutch engineer that lived in the flat next door to Jo. The role requires Bristolian born Joe to adopt a Dutch accent which showcases his versatility.
The murder inquiry was one of the largest police investigations to ever take place in the Bristol area. The case dominated the UK press throughout the Christmas of 2010.
Following the arrest of Vincent Tabak Mr Jefferies sued several newspapers for libel and received an apology from the police.
‘The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies’ will be aired on Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th December at 9PM on ITV.
