Rob Heaps has narrated the latest book by acclaimed historian and author Antony Beevor,
Rasputin: The Downfall of the Romanovs.
Rob narrated Russia: Revolution and Civil War, 1917-1921 for Antony Beevor in 2022 and now lends his voice to this extraordinary portrait of the man who became the stuff of legend, Rasputin.
Grigori Rasputin: visionary, fraud or victim of history? How could a barely literate peasant from Siberia determine the fate of the world? The so-called mad monk bewitched the Tsar Nicholas II and his wife, Alexandra but he had no official position, no forces at his command, he was a devoted monarchist not a revolutionary. Just as Rasputin cast a spell over the Romanovs, his legend has bewitched historians. In this major new biography, Antony Beevor searches for the truth about the wild tales that brought down an empire and the great mystic seducer who laid the ground for the Russian Revolution.
5★ Fabulous narration – Loved this audiobook – have always been fascinated by Russian imperial history, especially Tsar Nicholas II. This is a particularly great book, and the narrator really captivates you into the story.
